Day 211 Bible Readings for July 31 – Romans 13: 8 (ESV)

1 Chronicles 7 & 8, Romans 13, Psalm 119: 9-16

Romans 13: 8 (ESV)

“Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.”

In verse 8 from Romans 13, Paul says that we need to lead a life free from financial and moral obligations or debt, which could affect our ability to serve Father-God and others. The only debt or obligation Father-God approves of is the obligation to continually love other people. Loving others is a fulfillment of the law and a sign of our obedience to Father-God. Loving others is not just thinking about love, but in active and practical actions. We must always be kind, always forgiving, and always in service to others. Our love for other people shows other people how the power of Father-God’s love has transformed us and is reflected in our everyday actions. When I think about loving other people, judgement comes up for me because I cannot help but think about the actions of other people. But then I remember that it is not for me to judge them because that is not my job. Judgement belongs to the Lord, and not to me. All Father-God has asked me to do is reflect his love for me in my actions to other people. This doesn’t mean that I approve of the wrong actions of other people, because often I don’t. What it does mean is that my actions reflect God’s love for all people, and I treat people with kindness no matter what they’ve done.

If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this Bible verse and you want to always show love to others because of your faith in Jesus Christ, please pray this prayer out loud:

Heavenly Father, I want to give you my Life. Forgive me of all of my sins. Wash me in your blood. I believe in my heart You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now, I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of Father-God! Do yourself a favor and find and join a Holy Spirit filled, full Gospel, Bible-based church where you can hear the words of Father-God preached and experience signs, wonders, and miracles in your life.

Day 210 Bible Readings – Romans 12: 1-2 (ESV)

1 Chronicles 6, Romans 11: 33-36, Romans 12: 1-21, Psalm 119: 1-8

Romans 12: 1-2 (ESV)

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

In verses 1 and 2 from Romans 12, Paul outlines in two verses the foundation of someone who is a believer in Jesus Christ. Paul tells us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice to Father-God, meaning that we need to dedicate our entire being as a living, ongoing act of worship to the Lord. Our lives need to reflect a life of holiness and service to Father-God. We need to remember that as believers in Jesus Christ, we have been set apart from the world and need to live that way. Our thoughts and actions need to be aligned with the will of Father-God. When we live as a sacrifice to Father-God, we need to take the practical steps of resisting sin, serving others, and always making Father-God a priority in our daily decisions. We will be able to resist the pressures and values of the world when we renew our mind by reading and dwelling in the Bible and let the Holy Spirit guide us in our actions. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can test and discern what is the will of Father-God for our life and our role in his plan for the rest of the world. When I do not feel the Holy Spirit within me, I feel fear and chaos in my mind.  But when I feel renewed by the Holy Spirit, I feel a sense of peace in my mind knowing that my life is good, acceptable, and perfect to Father-God.

If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on these Bible verses and you want to feel the peace that comes from being renewed by the Holy Spirit through your faith in Jesus Christ, please pray this prayer out loud:

Heavenly Father, I want to give you my Life. Forgive me of all of my sins. Wash me in your blood. I believe in my heart You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now, I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 209 Bible Readings – 1 Chronicles 4: 9-10 (ESV)

1 Chronicles 4 & 5, Romans 11: 11-32, Psalm 118: 17-29

1 Chronicles 4: 9-10 (ESV)

“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked.”

In verses 9 and 10 from 1 Chronicles, we read about the famous prayer of Jabez. His name stands out because he is only mentioned once in the Bible, and his story comes in the middle of long passages about the genealogies of King David’s line. All we know about Jabez is that he prayed to the God of Israel, and his prayer was answered. Jabez prayed for four (4) things from the Lord: 1) to be blessed, 2) for his territory to be enlarged, 3) that Father-God’s be with him, and 4) that he be kept from harm that brings him pain. We know that the prayer of Jabez was successful because we find that Father-God granted his requests. Many Biblical scholars have noted that the prayer of Jabez was specific and earnest, and not selfish. Jabez had a desire for Father-God’s favor, and he asked for the Lord to be with him and to protect him. I love the prayer of Jabez because we have another example to show us that Father-God will respond to our prayers if we are sincere and have complete faith and trust that he will answer us. The prayer of Jabez also gives us an example of what a sincere prayer to Father-God looks like, and how much this type of prayer is appreciated by the Lord. When I feel my prayers go unanswered, I read the prayer of Jabez and adapt my own accordingly. Each time I did this, I felt peaceful and believed Father-God heard my prayers. And soon enough, my prayers were always answered.

If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on these Bible verses and you want to feel the peace that comes from knowing your prayers to Father-God will be answered because of your faith in Jesus Christ, please pray this prayer out loud:

Heavenly Father, I want to give you my Life. Forgive me of all of my sins. Wash me in your blood. I believe in my heart You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now, I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 208 Bible Readings – Romans 10: 16-17 (ESV)

1 Chronicles 2: 18-55, 1 Chronicles 3, Romans 10, Romans 11: 1-10, Psalm 118: 1-16

Romans 10: 16-17 (ESV)

“But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

In verses 16 through 17 from Romans 10, Paul tells us not everyone will accept the teachings of Jesus Christ so we must be persistent in sharing our faith. The process of accepting salvation through faith in Jesus Christ is a process, and each one of us has a role in the process of saving someone. The Bible's words, inspired by the Holy Spirit, carry divine power, prompting responses from both the mind and heart. I heard the great evangelist Kenneth Hagin say sometimes you must hear the words of the Lord spoken over and over and over again for it to gain traction in your heart. The words of Father-God are powerful and can transform our lives, but even long-time believers can benefit from hearing the words the Gospel preached because faith is a continuous journey. What Gospel teachings might not make sense at one stage in our life, will make total sense in a different stage in our life. Our faith in Jesus Christ isn’t stagnant. Our faith is a growing and living plant that needs constant nourishment from the living water and food found the words in the Bible. I love that faith is partnership with Father-God, and it’s not just self-generated from within us. Father-God sent the Holy Spirit to guide us in strengthening our faith; he did not leave us alone to keep our faith strong on our own. But we must do our part and take the physical action to hear the word of the Bible preached and meditate on the word of the Lord on our own. I know when I’ve done this myself, my love for the Lord has strengthened so much that I feel surrounded by his love from the time I get up till I’m bed again ready to fall asleep.

If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on these Bible verses and you want to feel the love of the Lord in every waking moment of your life because of your faith in Jesus Christ, please pray this prayer out loud:

Heavenly Father, I want to give you my Life. Forgive me of all of my sins. Wash me in your blood. I believe in my heart You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now, I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
