Proverbs 7-9, Psalm 23
Proverbs 8:35-36 (NLT)
“For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. But those who miss me injure themselves. All who hate me love death.”
In Proverbs 8:35-36, Solomon tells us that whoever pursues wisdom will receive favor from the Lord. Those who do not seek wisdom injure themselves, and those who reject divine wisdom are on a path of self-destruction.
These verses remind believers that wisdom is not merely the pursuit of intellectual knowledge. True wisdom gives us spiritual understanding that aligns with the Lord’s will. When we pursue wisdom, we are seeking a deeper relationship with Father-God because all true wisdom originates from Him. As we align ourselves with the Lord’s wisdom, we receive His favor. However, when we reject wisdom and refuse to seek it, we separate ourselves from the Lord’s ways. Rejecting Father-God’s wisdom leads us down a path of self-destruction, bringing spiritual and often physical harm.
One Bible commentary I read noted that actively seeking wisdom is a biblical mandate. When we embrace wisdom, we align ourselves with Father-God’s will and His purposes for our lives. When we reject wisdom, we distance ourselves from the Lord and turn away from His ways.

Day 177 Bible Readings for June 28 – Proverbs 6: 16-19 (NLT)

Proverbs 6: 16-19 (NLT)
“There are six things the Lord hates—no, seven things he detests: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family.”
In Proverbs 6:16-19, Solomon lists seven things that the Lord hates and considers an abomination. All of these sins are connected to things people do through their words, actions, or attitudes. These seven sins focus on how we treat other people. Father-God is deeply concerned with how we treat one another.
When we are haughty or proud, we make the Lord our adversary. Father-God promises to judge those who lie and murder. The Lord also judges those who devise evil plans and whose feet are quick to do evil. Those who give false testimony are also an abomination to Father-God. The seventh sin is sowing discord among family members or within a community, which is often the result of the first six sins.
These verses remind believers that we should reflect the character of Father-God in our lives by avoiding what He hates and demonstrating His love and righteousness in our daily actions. As we examine our lives and turn away from these behaviors, we align ourselves more closely with the Lord's will. Living this way also helps us live in harmony with others and reflects the Lord, who lives within us.

WHEHS Break - June 28 thru July 6 and Travel Sickness
Apologies for the lack of posting. I attended my church's camp meeting in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania called "What No Eyes Has Seen" from June 28 thru July 6.

It was an amazing event with great speakers but it was a marathon conference with two sessions every day at 10 am and 7 pm. To get a seat in the front, you had to get there two hours before each session, so my day started with waiting in line at 8am, and then again at 5 pm.
The sessions went for 4 hours and with lunch, there was maybe a 2-hour break between each one. This schedule left little time for posting about my Bible readings.
So I'm behind with my Bible reading postings and I will be posting again trying to get caught up while not falling behind. Not sure how I will do that yet.
Then when I returned home, I ended up with a cold that wouldn't go away. I wasn't coughing or feverish, but my brain was foggy and I was very tired. It was a weird mucous-filled cold that wouldn't go away. I didn't start to feel better until Saturday July 11, and today is the first time I feel like my brain is actually working.
So expect to see more Bible reading postings until I get caught up.

Day 176 Bible Readings for June 27– Proverbs 3:5-7
Proverbs 1-3, Psalm 1
Proverbs 3:5-7 (NLT)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.”
In Proverbs 3:5-7, Solomon tells us to put our trust in the Lord with all our hearts. One Bible commentary I read noted that trusting Father-God with all our hearts means setting aside our own understanding and choosing instead to trust His wisdom, especially as revealed in His Word. When we trust the Lord with all our hearts, we honor and acknowledge Him in everything we do. We invite the Lord into our everyday lives and decisions. As we trust Father-God, He directs us through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our wisdom is never greater than the Lord’s wisdom. As we trust Him and come to know Him more deeply, we are drawn toward righteousness and away from evil.
What I like about these verses is that although Solomon asked the Lord for wisdom, he reminds us that the greatest source of wisdom is not human reasoning. Father-God is the One we must look to for true wisdom and guidance. The Lord’s ways are higher than our ways.
Solomon then tells us to seek the Lord’s guidance in every aspect of our lives, including our daily decisions. Father-God, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, will show us which paths to take. Some Bible translations say that the Lord will make our paths straight, meaning a life free from unnecessary obstacles and confusion.
One Bible commentary I read noted that the straight path points to Jesus Christ, who is the only way to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Finally, Solomon tells us to turn away from sin and make daily decisions that align with the Lord’s Word. One Bible commentary I read noted that true wisdom comes when we recognize our limitations and resist the temptation to rely solely on our own intellect.
I know from my own life that when I relied on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, my life became filled with unexpected blessings and much greater peace. While I still experience challenges, I no longer carry the same fear and uncertainty because I trust the Lord to guide my steps.
