Job 4-7, Matthew 19: 1-15, Psalm 18: 25-36
Psalm 18: 28-30 (ESV)
“For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens
my darkness. For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap
over a wall. This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he
is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.:
In verses 28 through 30 in Psalm 18, David talks about his
confidence in the future with God on his side. David says God will help light
his darkness so he can make good decision as a king. God will also give him
strength to run against a troop or leap over a wall. David says God’s way is
perfect, and God always fulfills his promises. David knows first hand that God is
a shield and will protect all who take refuge in him. I love how David says God
lights his lamp and lightens his darkness, because that is how I see God. God
always lightens my darkness.
