Day 251 Bible Readings – 2 Corinthians 10: 3-6 (ESV)

Isaiah 17-19, 2 Corinthians 10, Psalm 137

2 Corinthians 10: 3-6 (ESV)

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.”

In verses 3 through 6 from 2 Corinthians 10, Paul tells the church in Corinth that being a Christian means we are always fighting a spiritual battle, and not a physical one. Since our battle is spiritual, we must use spiritual weapons and strategies. Paul tells us we need to rely on Father-God’s power and wisdom to destroy strongholds. We need to use weapons of faith and prayer. Strongholds in these verses refer to arguments, positions, false beliefs, ideologies, or sinful patterns that oppose the knowledge of Father-God. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can destroy any thoughts or ideas that oppose Father-God’s truth and laws. As believers, we need to make sure that every thought we have is obedient to Father-God. To align our thinking, we can use the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ. Paul reminds us that we must be ready to confront and correct our own sins and disobedience and bring our thoughts back in alignment with Father-God’s will and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I love having the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit in my life to keep me in line with Father-God’s will, and to be in alignment with the teachings that Jesus Christ left for in the Bible. But I also read the Bible every day using a plan to read the Bible in a year, and I am collecting verses to memorize so I can recite them to counteract negative or false thoughts. I also love having friends from church to discuss any problems I may be having and look to them for encouragement to grow in my faith.

If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on these Bible verses, and through your faith in Jesus Christ you want to have strategies and tools to fight the strongholds in your life, please pray this prayer out loud:

Heavenly Father, I want to give you my Life. Forgive me of all of my sins. Wash me in your blood. I believe in my heart You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now, I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, welcome to the family of Father-God! Do yourself a favor and find and join a Holy Spirit filled, full Gospel, Bible-based church where you can hear the words of Father-God preached and experience signs, wonders, and miracles in your life.
