Jonah 1-4, Romans 2: 1-16, Psalm 108: 6-13
Romans 2: 6-8 (ESV)
“He will render to each one according to his works: to those
who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will
give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the
truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.”
In verses 6 through 8 from Romans 2, Paul tells us that
Father-God will judge each of us on our works because actions reflect your
faith and character. To those people who demonstrate their faith by doing good
works and seek to glory and honor Father-God, he will give eternal life. But
for those people who focus on satisfying their own desires and ambitions and do
not obey Father-God’s will and truth, they will experience his wrath. Paul’s
advice tells us that we need to understand the consequences of our choices and
actions. If we live our life to honor and glorify Father-God and our actions reflect
our faith we will have eternal life. But if we choose temporary pleasures, live
to satisfy our personal ambitions, and engage in actions that are contrary to Father-God’s
words, then we will experience his judgement and his wrath. When I look over my
life and the times my actions did not reflect my faith, I know I suffered from
the consequences of my choices and did not feel any blessings from the Lord. But
in the times in my life when my actions reflected my faith and I tried to honor
and glorify Father-God, I experienced blessings and miracles from Father-God in
my life and more inner peace and calmness in my life.
If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on these Bible verses and
you’d like to experience the blessings and peace in your life that faith in
Jesus Christ can bring, please pray this prayer out loud:
Heavenly Father, I admit that I’ve sinned. I repent. I
believe in my heart you raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth
Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now, I‘ve received forgiveness by the blood
of Jesus. I am saved in Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of God! Do
yourself a favor and find and join a Holy Spirit filled, full Gospel,
Bible-based church where you can hear the words of Father-God preached and experience
blessings and peace in your life.
