Hosea 6 & 7, Romans 7: 7-24, Psalm 115:1-11
Romans 7: 21-23 (ESV)
“So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil
lies close at hand. For I delight in the
law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war
against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells
in my members.”
In verses 21 through 23, Paul tells us about a truth that we
believers must face in our spiritual journey. Paul himself found out that the
desire to do good is accompanied by the presence of sin in our flesh. There is
an ongoing battle and war inside of us between wanting to do and wanting to
sin. We cannot rely only on ourselves to win this battle. We must rely on
Father-God’s grace and the power of the Holy Spirit to help us win this battle.
We must seek the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives for guidance and
strength. But since we love Father-God, we will find joy and satisfaction in his
law and commandments since they reflect him and his plan for our lives. Once we
are saved through faith in Jesus Christ, our sinful nature dies, and we are
born again as children of a Father-God who love us as his own children.

I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am
clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
