1 Chronicles 26: 20-32, 1 Chronicles 27, 1 Corinthians 4, Psalm 119: 81-88
Psalm 119: 87-88 (ESV)
“They have almost made an end of me on earth, but I have not
forsaken your precepts. In your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep
the testimonies of your mouth.”
In verses 87 through 88, King David the psalmist gives us a
model for faith. King David who faced threats from many enemies never wavered
in his commitment to Father-God and his laws. David teaches us to we always
need to trust in Father-God’s words and promised when we are going through a season
of troubles and adversities. David then asks Father-God to give him revival and
renewal through the revelation of the Lord in his scriptures. I love that David
is not seeking revival through external circumstances, but from reading the
words of Father-God. David emphasizes that our spiritual vitality is dependent
of the grace and mercy of Father-God. So when you feel the need for revival and
renewal, David is teaching us that all we need to do read the Bible, and we
will receive it because of Father-God’s grace and mercy and not through our own
efforts. I love that revival and renewal may only be a Bible reading away, and
that it is always available to me if I pray and meditate on the words of Father-God.
If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on these Bible verses,
and you want to experience the promise of renewal and revival in your life because
of your faith in Jesus Christ, please pray this prayer out loud:
Heavenly Father, I want to give you my Life. Forgive me of
all of my sins. Wash me in your blood. I believe in my heart You raised Jesus
from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now,
I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am
clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of
Father-God! Do yourself a favor and find and join a Holy Spirit filled, full
Gospel, Bible-based church where you can hear the words of Father-God preached
and experience signs, wonders, and miracles in your life.
