2 Chronicles 21-23, 1 Corinthians 15: 50-58, Psalm 124
1 Corinthians 15: 58 (ESV)
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor
is not in vain.”
In verse 58 from 1 Corinthians 15, Paul writes to the church
in Corinth to be firm and unwavering in their faith to Jesus Christ. Believers
need to make sure that their faith cannot be shaken by external pressures or internal
doubts. Paul then tells them to do the work of Father-God with continual excellence
and dedication. Believers need to actively seek opportunities to serve and spread
the gospel of Jesus Christ. Father-God knows what they are doing, so their work
is always recognized. Believers also need to understand that Father-God is
responsible for the outcome of their work, and that he will use any
circumstances, good or bad, for his good. We can be assured that the work we do
will always have significance since they are part of Father-God’s plan.
When I read this verse, I think about all the years I have
prayed for my friends and family to be find faith in Jesus Christ. I read somewhere
that a person sometimes needs over 50 encounters with the Holy Spirit to come
to faith. This verse gives me the assurance that whatever I say to friends and
family to bring them to faith is not in vain. That Father-God is using everything
I do and everything everybody else is doing to bring my friends and family to
faith. Father-God has a plan for everyone’s salvation, and we must never give
up hope that our efforts our in vain because Father-God is sovereign over everything.
If you enjoyed reading my thoughts about this Bible verse,
and you want to know that Father-God can use all things for his good because of your faith in Jesus Christ, please pray this prayer out loud:
Heavenly Father, I want to give you my Life. Forgive me of
all of my sins. Wash me in your blood. I believe in my heart You raised Jesus
from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now,
I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am
clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of
Father-God! Do yourself a favor and find and join a Holy Spirit filled, full
Gospel, Bible-based church where you can hear the words of Father-God preached
and experience signs, wonders, and miracles in your life.
