2 Chronicles 5-6, 1 Corinthians 11, Psalm 119: 145-152
Psalm 119: 151-152 (ESV)
“But you are near, O Lord, and all your commandments are true. Long have I known from your testimonies that you have founded them forever.”
In verses 151-152 from Psalm 119, King David reminds that Father-God is always near to those who believe in him and who seek him. This verse reminds us that the presence of Father-God in our life can be source of source of comfort to us in a season of trouble since we can be confident that Father-God is always near us. We can also take comfort in knowing that the promises of Father-God are true, and that he will also keep his promises to us. The next verses, David reminds us Father-God’s nature is unchanging and that he is the same today as he was in the past. I can imagine David pondering the promises of Father-God when he was hiding out from King Saul. That he had to have total confidence in Father-God’s promises to him even when he was in several seasons of affliction. Bible scholars tell us that David was on the run from Saul for 7-13 years. When facing challenges, I try to remember David's greater hardships and trust that God, who was faithful to him, will also be faithful to me. And so far, like David, Father-God has always kept his promises to me.
If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on these Bible verses, and you want to have the assurance that the Lord will always be faithful in his promises to you because of your faith in Jesus Christ, please pray this prayer out loud:
Heavenly Father, I want to give you my Life. Forgive me of all of my sins. Wash me in your blood. I believe in my heart You raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Right now, I receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. I am saved, I am forgiven, I am clean, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of Father-God! Do yourself a favor and find and join a Holy Spirit filled, full Gospel, Bible-based church where you can hear the words of Father-God preached and experience signs, wonders, and miracles in your life.
S. Brenda Elfgirl - I was told I am an elf in a parallel life, and I live in the Arizona desert exploring what this means. I've had this blog for a while and I write about the things that interest me. My spiritual teacher told me that my journey in life is about balancing "the perfect oneness of a sweetness heart and the effulgent soul". My inner and outer lives are like parallel lines that will one day meet, but only when there is a new way of thinking. Read on as I try to find the balance.
