Job 32-34, Psalm 39
Job 33:26-28 (NLT)
“When he prays to God, he will be accepted. And God will receive him with joy and restore him to good standing. He will declare to his friends, ‘I sinned and twisted the truth, but it was not worth it. God rescued me from the grave, and now my life is filled with light.’”
In Job 33:26–28, Elihu tells Job and his friends that when a person prays to the Lord, they will find favor and a restored relationship with Him. Father-God will receive the person who prays with joy and restoration. The person who prayed will then be able to tell others that they sinned and repented. The Lord will rescue the person who prays, and they will experience renewed fellowship with Father-God.
One Bible commentary I read noted that while Elihu's description of prayer could not rightly be applied to Job and his situation, it foreshadows the work of Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, Christ restored believers to the Lord.
Elihu tells us that the Lord does not desire our destruction. Father-God desires repentance, restoration, and reconciliation with those who believe in Him. If a person admits their wrongdoing and genuinely repents, the Lord will have mercy on them. When a believer experiences the Lord's redemption, they receive His favor and guidance once again.
I love that even in one of the earliest stories in the Old Testament, there is a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ. I am reminded again that Father-God is sovereign and has a plan for each of us that began long before we were born.
If these verses resonate with you—if you feel drawn to place your faith in Jesus Christ, the One who is sovereign and has a plan for every person—this may be your moment. Open your heart to Him. Speak to Him in prayer. Tell Him you trust Him and desire to walk with Him. He is faithful, and He will meet you exactly where you are.
Heavenly Father, I give You my life. Please forgive me for all my sins and wash me clean through the blood of Jesus. I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead, and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I receive Your forgiveness and the gift of salvation. Thank You, Lord—I am saved, I am forgiven, I am clean, and I am made new in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, welcome to the family of Father-God! I encourage you to find and join a Holy Spirit–filled, full-Gospel, Bible-based church where you can grow in your faith and experience the Lord’s love, signs, wonders, and miracles in your life.

I've had this blog for a while and I write about the things that interest me. My spiritual teacher told me that my journey in life is about balancing "the perfect oneness of a sweetness heart and the effulgent soul". My inner and outer lives are like parallel lines that will one day meet, but only when there is a new way of thinking. Read on as I try to find the balance.

Day 193 Bible Readings for July 14 - Job 31:35-37 (NLT)
Job 29-31, Psalm 38
Job 31:35-37 (NLT)
“If only someone would listen to me! Look, I will sign my name to my defense. Let the Almighty answer me. Let my accuser write out the charges against me. I would face the accusation proudly. I would wear it like a crown. For I would tell him exactly what I have done. I would come before him like a prince.”
In Job 31:35–37, Job tells his friends that he wants someone who will truly listen to his case. Job was so confident in his integrity that he was willing to take a solemn oath to proclaim his innocence. He again asks for an audience with the Lord and says he would wear his innocence like a crown and give an account of his actions.
What I love about these verses is Job's confidence in the life he lived before the Lord. I don't know how many people could do what Job wanted to do and stand before the Lord with such confidence, ready to give an account of their lives.
When I read these verses, I thought of Paul, who said in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful." Paul knew that he had remained faithful to the calling the Lord had given him and had never turned back from proclaiming the gospel of Christ. In a similar way, Job was confident that he had lived with integrity before God. Their examples inspire me to live a life of faithful obedience so that, when I one day stand before the Lord, I can also give an honest account of my life.
If these verses resonate with you—if you feel drawn to place your faith in Jesus Christ, the One who, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, helps us live lives of strong faith—this may be your moment. Open your heart to Him. Speak to Him in prayer. Tell Him you trust Him and desire to walk with Him. He is faithful, and He will meet you exactly where you are.

Day 192 Bible Readings for July 13 - Job 28:27-28 (NLT)
Job 25-28, Psalm 37
Job 28:27-28 (NLT)
“Then he saw wisdom and evaluated it. He set it in place and examined it thoroughly. And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’”
In Job 28:27–28, Job tells his friends that the Lord saw wisdom and evaluated it. Job says that true wisdom comes from Father-God. When a person is in a relationship with the Lord and fears Him, they will live according to the Lord’s standards and turn away from evil.
One Bible study I read noted that Job showed the Lord is the source of wisdom and that believers must look to Father-God for wisdom. Being in a right relationship with the Lord is the key to wisdom. As we grow closer to Him, we will naturally turn away from evil because we desire to live according to His standards.
One Bible commentary I read noted that Job had a reverent fear of the Lord. Job was not afraid of God, but he had a deep respect and awe for Father-God’s power and authority. His reverence for the Lord influenced his decisions and actions. Even though Job was suffering, he continued to seek the wisdom of the Lord to help him endure his testing. Job never lost his holy reverence for Father-God.
If these verses resonate with you—if you feel drawn to place your faith in Jesus Christ, the One who invites believers into a relationship with Him and offers true wisdom—this may be your moment. Open your heart to Him. Speak to Him in prayer. Tell Him you trust Him and desire to walk with Him. He is faithful, and He will meet you exactly where you are.

Day 191 Bible Readings for July 12 - Job 23:8-10 (NLT)
Job 20-24, Psalm 36
Job 23:8-10 (NLT)
“I go east, but he is not there. I go west, but I cannot find him. I do not see him in the north, for he is hidden. I look to the south, but he is concealed. But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.”
In Job 23:8–10, Job tells his friends he has looked for the Lord in every direction but cannot find Him. Father-God remained hidden from Job and could not be perceived. One Bible commentary I read noted that despite his frustration at not being able to find the Lord, Job remained confident that Father-God was still watching over him and knew where he was going. Job then declares that when the Lord had tested him, he would come forth like gold.
These verses remind believers that even when they feel the Lord is absent from their lives, they cannot rely on or trust their feelings. Father-God is always watching over His children. In his suffering, Job called out to the Lord and did not perceive Him, but he never lost confidence that even though he felt Father-God was absent, the Lord knew what he was going through and would ultimately vindicate him.
I know I've felt frustration like Job, wondering if the Lord was hearing my prayers and often feeling as though I was praying to someone who wasn't there or couldn't hear me—or worse, was deliberately ignoring me. I didn't have Job's steadfast faith to know that my feelings do not determine whether the Lord is present. Job understood that regardless of what he was feeling, the Lord knew where he was and was watching over him.
If these verses resonate with you—if you feel drawn to place your faith in Jesus Christ, the One who is always watching over His children—this may be your moment. Open your heart to Him.
