1 Chronicles 1-9, Psalm 65
1 Chronicles 5:18-20 (NLT)
“There were 44,760 capable warriors in the armies of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. They were all skilled in combat and armed with shields, swords, and bows. They waged war against the Hagrites, the Jeturites, the Naphishites, and the Nodabites. They cried out to God during the battle, and he answered their prayer because they trusted in him. So the Hagrites and all their allies were defeated.”
In 1 Chronicles 5:18–20, the armies of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh used their skills in combat to fight against the enemies of Israel. The people of Israel were seeking to secure their territory, which brought them into conflict with the surrounding peoples. During the battle, they cried out to the Lord because they trusted Father-God and depended on Him for victory. The Lord heard their prayers and helped them defeat their enemies. Their faith was rewarded with divine intervention, demonstrating Father-God's faithfulness to His people.
These verses remind me of the importance of relying on the Lord for divine intervention. The warriors were skilled in combat and well equipped, but they still prayed to Father-God for help in their battle. They trusted that the Lord would hear them and help them. Although they had the skills and resources to fight, they recognized that their ultimate dependence was on Father-God. The Lord heard them and responded to their genuine prayer for help.
These verses also remind me to rely on the Lord for help rather than depending solely on myself, my strength, or my abilities. These warriors were capable and well trained, but they still prayed to Father-God for help. They did not rely solely on their own human strength or abilities. Instead, they trusted the Lord, and He heard their prayers. Their victory reminds me that I can use the gifts, skills, and abilities Father-God has given me while still remaining fully dependent on Him.

Heavenly Father, I give You my life. Please forgive me for all my sins and wash me clean through the blood of Jesus. I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead, and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I receive Your forgiveness and the gift of salvation. Thank You, Lord—I am saved, I am forgiven, I am clean, and I am made new in Jesus’ name. Amen.
